We have open positions and research projects for internships and theses.
PhD student - Computational Biology
We are currently seeking a motivated PhD Student to work on a collaborative project between the Research Group of Computational Immunology, led by Prof. Dr. Katharina Imkeller, and the Research Group of Machine Learning in Oncology, led by Prof. Dr. Florian Buettner.
Your role:
- The planned PhD project focuses on the development and collaboration-driven application of computational methods to integrate different types of omics data and making them available for clinical use. Relevant data types include single cell transcriptomics, spatially-resolved multi-omics such as multiplexed immunofluoresence images and spatial transcriptomics.
- The PhD student will develop novel approaches for spatial data integration, perform analysis of multi-omics datasets generated within the CARISMa program and communicate the results with clinical collaborationpartners.
See the job opening for more information. Please apply via this link. Please include a motivation letter, CV and transcripts of records.
Thesis projects (BSc/MSc) and student internships
We currently offer a Master's thesis in molecular biology/tumor immunology. The aim of the project is to determine the antigen specificity of B cells in human gliomas. Apply until March 15th, 2025.
Project description...We offer internships, Bachelor’s and Master’s theses in different research areas of quantitative immunology. The research projects can be either experimental (for students with experience in laboratory work) or computational (for students with coding experience).
Possible research topics:
- Spatial transcriptomic and proteomic profiling of the tumor microenvironemnt
- Adaptive immune receptor repertoire (B cell and T cell receptor) sequencing in solid tumors
- Antigen-specificity of tumor-associated B cells and T cells
If you are interested in joining us please contact Katharina Imkeller. Please include a motivation letter, CV and transcripts of records.
